j LIEUTENANT F. M. TWISTLETON. j Among those mentioned in yestar- ! day's list as having been discharged from the sick list is Lieutenant F. II j Twistleton (Otago Mounted Regiment). He had not been previously reported. A recent casualty list reported that Bugler Donald Roy Treacher had bee" ini.s_.-ing since June Bth. He is tho s'.'C-oud -on of the lato Mr W. G. Treacher, of Bombay and Poona, and of Mrs Treacher, King's View road. Mt. Eden, Auckland, and wa-s born in 1595. When the family came to Now Zealand, Bugler Treacher was a pupil at the Napier High School, and afterwards at tho Auckland Grammar School. He i completed his education at Skinner's , College, Tunbridgo Wells, England. j where he was a member of the Oflicers' | Training Corp3. Ho played in both j the Rugby and the cricket teams of j the College. After returning to I Auckland, he was one of tho first of j the Northcote Srouts under Scoutmasj ter Horace Stebbing. Bugler Treacher was in the employ of the Standard Insurance Company when h© enHstrd in the first contingent of the Auckland Infantry Company. Lance-Corporal Lindsay Lyall Christie (Otago Battalion, wounded), and now in hospital at Malta. is the youngest son of tho late Mr W. L. Christie, ol Saddle Hill, Otago. As a member of the Taieri Agricultural Society, the Otago Hunt Club, and the Taieri Bowling Club, Lanoe-Corporal Christie is very well known in the Taieri district. A keen sport, and an energetic worker, ho was a prominent figure in most of the social events in and around Mosgiel. and left behind him a host of friends. He had a considerable amount of military experience, having served for some years in the B Battery. and later in the Otago Huf-sprs. He left with the Main E"xoeditionary Forco, and latest advice w.os that, he was progressing favourably. Private G. M. Cn'ckett (Auckland Infantry Battalion, who is reported to be seriously ill with enteric) is 21 years of age, and is a son of Mr J. T. Crickett, of Morrinsv-110. During the last few years be was well known throughout the Waikato as an athlete, having boon a prominent performer at several sports meptings. Ho was also _ well-known bandsman, and had been a member of thc Te Arohn Band, and later of the Morrinsvillo Brass Band. Sergeant John Graham, who was wounded while serving with tho Field Ambulance, is a native of New Plymouth, and is 31 years of ago. He is well known in Napier. Auckland, and Rotorua. He was one of the promoters of the Napier Amateur Boxing Club,.and was a prominent member of tbe Auckland Hotel and Restaurant Employees' Union. Mrs K. Whitaker. of Papakura, has received a letter from one of the chaplains with the Now Zealand forces at Cairo, in which it is stated that her son. Corporal Arthur Harry Whitaker, who was reported to have been wound ed early in the operations at the Dardanelles, had been severely wounded in the skull, his injury causing partial paralysis of speech. Private Lester Foster Wilson, who was. recently reported to have been wounded, k a son of Mrs A. L. Wilson, of Sherbourne road, Mt. Eden, Auckland. He was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, and at the Auckland University. Prior to enlisting he was employed in the Auckland .Deeds Office. Private Wilson left New Zealand with the Maorj Contingent, but on arrival at Egypt was transferred to the Otago Infantry Battalion. Mr Richard Young, of 32 Alexandra street, Richmond, has received advice that his son. Leslie Victor Young, of tho ICth Waikato Company. Auckland Battalion, has been wounded at the Dardanelles. Privato Young is the grandson of the late -Major J. A. Young. V.D., of Winchester, South Canterbury. He was a member of the Temuka Rifle Volunteers for six years, and was. well-known in cycling circles, having won several road and track races, among them being the road race from Ashburton to Christchurch for the _>.CL. Shield. Andrew Young, lato telegraph operator of Wanganui, is in tpe Field Engineers of the 4th Reinforcements now at tho Dardanelles, and Richard Arthur Young is serving on H.M.S. Pyramus. Mr F. B. Lane, of Rnngiora has received a cable message stating that his brother-in-law. Private A. Strong, is convalescent at Port Said. Private W r . Adams, of Waimate. st'll lies dangerously ill at Trentham. Mr S. J. Adams, his father, has been with him for over a week. Word was received from the authorities yesterday, by his parents, that Private Reg. K. B. Brosnan (Canterbury Battalion'), who was wounded at tho Dardanelles, was making satisfactory progress towards recovery.
