HAMMERING THE GERMAN

The "Daily Chronicle's" Petrograd correspondent says the Russians are making Przemysl th© anvil on which the German centre is being hammered, the hammer being the Russian advance southward from Nisko. In view of their immens_ reserves of men, the Russians find their striking power less affected than do the Germans, whose apparent success may eventually shorten the war.
