On Thursday, nt the Coalgnto sale, there was a very full yarding of sheep and lambs, 17,800 being penned, practically all classes briny: represented. Tlie fats* numbered GOO. made up of 340 ewes and 1.30 lambs. Tho stores consisted of 13,000 owes (8900 crossbred and 4'JOO merinos), the bulk being youiig and good sheep, a fair .percentage, of uncertain and backward sheep a sood number of aged and potter class. Rape and store* lambs were represented by "3100, chiefly, station lines oil' tussock.* Crossbred wethers totalled 1000. chiefly in forward condition, ami about 100 rains of all classes mado up the balai.co of the entry. Tbe attendance was a moderate one, practically all local, very few. if any. outside buyers being represented. Competition lor young and good classes of ewes was fairly good, but aged and low-conditioned" sheep were hard to •rjnita very few sales being made at auction. A nice line of 774 two-tooth crossbred ewes was withdrawn at 21s 9d, and 652 at 20s. About GO head of cattle WCrO yarded. Sales were: Calves 225. milch cows £7 15s to £10.
