(rBKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WESTPORT. March 4. Buller is the only district on the West Coast in which there will be a Licensing Committee election. The residence of Mr Woodward, at Fairdown, near Westport, was destroyed by fire, with all its contents. " The Harbour Board three months ago let an £8000 contract for the tunnel at Cape Fowlwind, but the Hoard will now have to cancel the contract" and do the work by day labour. The Dennieton Miners' Union sent fifty pounds to Mr Keir Hardie, M.P., for" sufferers by the war. In acknowledging the donation, Mr Hardio says he will distribute it in the poorest districts.
The British Imperial Oil Company's steamer Physa, having bunkered, has sailed for Singapore. Richard Powell, cook on the steamer Karori. was taken to t.be_ hospital, where ho died Xo information is available as to his relatives.
