LEESTON.
The executive of the Leeston Bowling Tennis, and Croquet Club met on Monday evening to make further arrangements for a monster carnival, to be held jn the local recreation grounds at Easter, tho proceeds from which are to be divided between th c club's Ground Improvement Fund and the Belgian Relief Fund. Dr. Yolckinan, president of the club, was in the chair. An offer from Messrs Brown Bros, to light the grounds by electricity on each evening of the carnival for a sum of £15, provided certain assistance -was given, was accepted. It was reported that Mr G. W. R. Osbornp had consented to give the use of his engine to drive the dynamo. The secretary reported that arrangements f Or a queen of the carnival competition were well in hand. It was decided to canvass the district for produce inlmpdiatelv and canvassers were appointed.
