RESIDENCES FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS.

The Education Department has made an important pronouncement on a question of policy so far as it concerns the provision of residences for head teachers. In future, it J3 proposed to dispense with teachers' residences wherever it is possible to do so. The Jgecretanr for Education has informed the Auckland Education Board that ihe Mimeter doe* not see his way to make a jrrant for a new residence at Ngaritawalua as proposed by the Board.
