(Iteccired December 22nd, .10.20 p.m.) LONDON, December 22. Officers from Vico-Admiral Sturdee's Fleet have supplied further particulars of the Falkland Islands' engagement. When the battle began tho Germans fired afc long range, and tho British reserved their fire, permitting the crews to brea-kfast before answering it. When the Gneisenau sank sho had exhausted her ammunition, but sho refused to surrender. Tho officers and crew were, standing on deck and singing patriotic eongs when she took the plnngo. Many of tho crew died after i>einc rescued. Tho Scharnhorst was ablaze . when sho sank. All hands, including Admiral yon Spec and his two sons, were drowned.
