A STATEMENT RESENTED

Mr Manson, the New Zealand Government Agent, in a letter to the "Sydney Morning Berald." takes exception to a sentence contained in a "Herald" article commenting on tho Now Zealand elections that an Australian is called "a foreigner" in the Dominion. He cays:—"Your statement Trill be deeply resented by New Zealanders, ""both in the Dominion and those resident in Australia, and for my part I must protest against it by eaying it is uniustifiablo and a libel on a little country we are all so proud of." A PROMINENT PASTORAIJST. C3ptain Willcox, who died at Rotorna, was a prominent pastoralistj irrigationist, and sheep breeder. THE TOTALISATOE. The annual conference of the Commercial Travellers' Association resolved in favour of the totalisator as a means of raising a hospital fund. THE MISSING"TRAWLER. There is no news of the missing Federal trawler Endeavoor.
