FIRES.
(PRES3 ASSOCI.—IO-T telegram.) DUNEDIN, November 28. A valuable homestead on the Moeraki station, containing 12 rooms, was destroyed by firo at 4.30 o'clock this morning. The building was owned by tho Now Zealand and Australian Land Company, and was occupied by Mr W. O. Macke'llar, the manager. About £100 worth of furniture was saved. Tho insurances are not ascertainable, but the loss will he very heavy. Tho servants lost everything, and barely had. time to escape, ono escaping in her iiight clothes. A heavy gale was blowing at tho time of the outbreak.
