PROHIBITION MEETING AT WELLINGTON.
* - (PRESS ASSOCIATION" TEXEGEAIt.) WELLINGTON, November 28. Tlie Prohibition party held a crowded meeting in the Town Hall last ni~ht. A large proportion of the audience were opposed to tho movement, and they demonstrated loudly against the speakers. At one stage the Mayor. had to cali the ->olice to the stage. Mr A. 11. Atkinson, who received tho best hearing, sa.d tho Trade had stated that Lord Kitchener had not advised the troops to abstain from liquor. Mr xVtkinson quoted Lord Kitchener's words and averred that the Trade had faked Lord Kitchener's message.' A motion declaring the neee-ssity of .voting No-license and Dominion Prohibition was moved. The chairman refused to accept an amendment, whereupon the representatives of the Moderate party left the hall in a body. Tho motion w.-is then pnt and declared carried unanimously.
