GERMANS IN THE CHANNEL.
DESTROYERS SINK STEAMERS LONDON. November 2*. Three German destroyers appeared off Havre on Tuesday, and held up tho .steamer 3lalaehito, and gave tho crew ten minutes to take to the bouts. They then sank her. Tho steamer Primo was similarly sunk. A message in tho "Evening News" on Saturday stated that theso ships had been sunk by a .submarine, and the crews had reached Havre and Fee am p respect i vely. The 3lal.ichite was a steel screw steamer of 71S ions, built in 1902 by J. Shearer and Sons, at Glasgow, for W. Robertson, of Glasgow. The Primo was a steam collier of loot) tons register, built in 1808, and owned by the Pelton S.S. Co., Ltd.. of Ncwcastic-on-Tvne.
