ASHBURTON.
(Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.) E. March and A. J. Phil, were each fined 40.. and cost's for riding motorcycles at an excessive speed over the A.hbiirton traffic ' bridge. James Hay, for driving a gig too fast over tho bridge was fined 40s and costs. A. Gray, for driving a motor-car too fast, was fined 40i> and oosts. Thomas Webb was ordered to find a. surety in a sum of £150 for compliance with future orders in respect to an unborn child. W. S. King was ordered to nay P. McG. Murray £6 9s forthwith, "in default fourteen days' imprisonment. Judgment was given for plaintiff in E. T. i-overscdgo v. A. Parsons, claim £13 10s, with costs £2 Ss 6d. MISAPPROPRIATION BY A COUNTY CLERK. Arthur F. Newbold, clerk to Kaitiel— County Council, pleaded guilty at Taumarunuion Friday to the misappropriation of money amounting to about £50, tbo property of the Council, and was committed for sentence to tho Supreme Court at Auckland.
