ARMING OF MERCHANTMEN.
("Times" aud "Sydney Sun" Services.) (Received July 16th, 5.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 15. In the Houso of Commons, Mr Churchill said that forty corn and meat-carrying merchantmen were armed for defensive purpose., for which tho Admiralty was not paying. Tho Admiralty proposed to arm merchantmen bringiug vital food supplies.
