IN CHRISTCHURCH.

After a morning of oright, warm sunshine, a dense fog crept "in from sea, with a light north-east wind, about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The wet fog enveloped the city, and towards sunset it was not possible to see very far along the streets. The late afternoon was bitterly -cold, but shortly after 8 o'clock tho fog cleared away as rapidly as it had come, and the night was fine and clear.
