The quarterly meeting of tne Jjytzeiton Meihodist Church, was held on Thursday, whoa phe Roy. A. Mitchell presided over a largo attendance ot members. The balance snowed a eound financial position. Resolutions protesting against the-increase of racing club permits as proposed in vne Gaming uill, and also urging the Government to pass tho Referendum Bill now before the House, were carried unanimously. A remit from the Homo Mission Executive, asking for assistance in fcflnging out evangelists from Cliff College, England, was acceded to. The work of tho Whito Cross League representative who -will be shortly in .bytielton, was commended.. The Methodists' chaplain's appeal for financial assistance towards tho institutional work don© by tbo V.M.C.A. in Territorial camps, was favourably received, and agreed to. A number of ladies from the congregation were appointed district visitors. Several new members wero added to the roll.
