BRISTOL AND DOMINIONS' ASSOCIATTON.

MEETING OF BOARD OF CONTROL. (-"BESS ASSOCIATION TE__C___t.) -. WELLLVGTON, July 10. At a meeting of tho New Zealand Board of' Control of the Bristol and Dominions' Producers' Association, representatives were ■ presoirt from Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Wairarupa, and Canterbury.

The question of the present method •of with rejects by the various freezing works was co__ider_d, and a definito proposal was approved for submission to members of the Association.

Tho question of adopting a uniform system of grading meat shipped to the Association throughout the Dominion was also considered and approved, subject to final approval of the Bristol manager (Major ..>bru>n) when h- arrives in the Dominion in a few weeks' time.

It was decided that subject to the approval of the Bristol manager, the Association should undertake the handling of wool next season through Liverpool, where there are e-cellent facilities available for receiving and marketing wool at Wapping Docks. The consolidated charges.for receiving and marketing at Liverpool are about' half those at London, 'being 2s 4d per bale -at Liverpool, as against 4s "4d and 5s 4d per bale in London, besides which barging and carting are obviated . at Liverpool. It is • considered that there are better shipping facilities for American and Continental markets at Liverpool than at London, and-also -hat Liverpool is very muoh closer to, Bradford, the greatest wool-consuming district in the world, than to London. Also, there are large sales of Argentine and Indian wool held at Liverpool. The Board agreed to a recc-_m-i__a-tion by the Bristol Board that in view of the increased volume of bnsiness anticipated next season, a further issue oi " shares of the Association be made for Australia and Canada, in addition to the 60,000 already authorised to be issued. The New Zealand }

Board considered that in view of further shares being made available for Canada and Australia, an effort should be made to get further shares placed amongst New Zealand producers so as to equalise the control of association by New Zealand with that of Canada and Australia. The manager reported that- a number of acc'mnt sales for meat had come to hand and in practically every instance the predictions of the Association as regards saving in weisrht and'allovrance and chargeswere correct and justified. As an illustration, in one consignment of 420 _r_as__ o mutton tncrw was a nett gain over colonial weights of 6691b. while there was no deduction made for tho usual 21b weight allowance per carcasf* that ii deducted in London, and whilo tho bulk of the meat had boon held for about three months in cold store owing to a heavy slump in the market caused by a glut of meat- in London, tho total dock and cold storage charges wero only £14 lis 4d. Tho London charges would havo been_ for tho same parcel and period over £36.
