Ou tne motion ot" Rev. W. R. Campbell, a tote of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr Thomas Armstrong, of Waikari, who did co much for tne Chxistchu'rch Presbytery, was carried in .silence, members standing. Deep sympathy was expressed by the Presbyter}' with the Rev. T. Tait oa the death cf his father, and the Presbytery recorded its sense of the loss sustained by the death, of tho lato Mr D. B. Borrie, for many years a member of the Presoytery. A report from throe members of the Presbytery recommending the purchase of a quarter-acre and a manse at £1500 for Ashburton was adopted. A recommendation was received from the General Assembly that tho history of*the Protestant Church be piaced more directly before the peoplo by lectures or otherwise. A committee was appointed to go into tho matter. The Rev. T. Macdonald submitted a report from Sunmor, and stated that a site would be obtained shortly as tho necessary, funds had como to hand. The report was adopted. The Rev...Mr Bill reported that tho Rev. Mr Blair, missionary at Matnparara, had resigned. The position was a very difficult one, which would require somo timo to unravel. Ho suggested that tho Rev. J. Mackenzie bo associated with him as a commis_ion to go into the matter. The suggestion waa adopted. After much discussion it wae decided that meeting of the Presbytery bo held at 10.15 a.m. on tbe teoond \V ednesday in the mouths of March and May.
