At the conference hold in Christchurch of delegates from Farmers' Co-operative Associations and from Farmers* Unions, somo horso covers were exhibited, and wero stated to have been obtained from tho depot of tho North Canterbury Farmers' Union. Our Ashburton correspondent reports tho sale by Mr John Grigg from his well-known Holstein herd of nineteen head, comprising 14 cows and 5 heifer calves, to Mr- George Gardner, Medbury. The calves, about eight months' old, aro bj; King Domino, a splendid eon of the champion cow Domino 111., No. 312, Holst-ein-Friesian Herd Book. This cow's record for the season 1911-----12 was a wonderful performance— 31,7221b of milk, containing 738.53b of butter-fat: over £30 in cash for the season. Domino 111. was owned by tho New Zealand Government, when she put up this record at the Wcreroa Farm, having been purchased from Mr Grieg two years previously, and a son of here was sold by auction'for 249 guineas as a yearling. Ailsa, one of the 14 cows, is another wonderful animal, as for tho season 1912-13, she gave 15,347Tb of milk, oontaining 571.381b of butter-fat. Primrose VIII. is a beautiful heifer for the show ring, and is under official test at present and doing well, considering she is not three years old until next September. KAIAPOI.
