("Time*" and "Sydney Sun" Seiv,oes.J LONDON, Jrine 5. Since the Aliens Act wa3 pasr&d, there has been an almost continuous decline in the volume of immigration. The greatest influx "was caused by the conversion of mansions into private hotels, mainly staffed with foreign waiters, of whom there are now many thousands in London. The menace to British employment is recognised, and English waiters are organising to meet it. The London County Council is establishing special classes for the training of English waiters.
