(By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, April 28. Air W. E. Harvey, Liberal-Labour M.'P. for N.E. Derby, is dead. ■■■■ William Edwin Harvqy was born in 1852. He was cducatec at the element- - ary day schooL He teas a working V miner from the age of nine years to thirty-two, when he was elected agent and secretary of the Derbyshire Miners'" Association. Ho had represented the N.E. division of Derby since 1907. At the' time of his death ho was . financial and corresponding secretary of tho Labour Party. This is the second vacancy ooenrring - ia the House of Commons this week, the previous" ono being caused by the death of Sir George' Doughty, Unionist ALP. for Grimsby. Tho respectivo pollings, when they take place in the course of the ■ next fortnight, will give a good idea of the . general opinion of the country "on the present vexed political problems. Air Harvey, . a Liberal-Labour M.P., was a county representative, while Sir Geo. Doughty's constituency was the busy seaport borough pf Grimsby, his majority as a Unionist .being 698, while tho late Mr HarveyVfigures were 1750 in excess of those of his Conservative opponent.
