FORMATION OF A CLUB AT KAIKOURA.
(SPECIAL TO "THE TRESS.") KAIKOUKI, April 35. A very enthusiastic and well attended meeting of those favourable to the - establishment of a bowling club -vyas held on Thureday, Mir James Boyd, county chairman, presiding. Messrs G. Johnston, D. J. Webster, T. Vangioni, the Rev. VV. Mx_Ara, and others addressed the meeting ia support of what Kaikoura lacks in this .respect, both ac an attraction for -visitors aa well aa a 60urce of enjoyment foT residents. It waa stated that a four-iink green could bo provided, with water supply, for __00, though the Christchurch expert's estimate was £183. Some twenty-five names of intending members were enrolled (at _3 2s a year), and a number of others accounted as sure to join, over_ fifty waa given as the probablo membership. "Raising the wind" having been discussed, the Rev. W. McAra, Messrs Webster, Ja... Davidson, 'G. Johnston, H. Flower. Vangioni, W. Clark, R. Browne, and Valentine were appointed a committe. to canvass for members and financial assistance, and to report to a meeting to be held next Thursday evening.
