The Committee of the miners' lodges of Northumberland and Durham have issued a circular urging the men to back up the leaders' efforts to remove Lord Slersey and Mr Rower as chairmen of the and District Boards respectively, even if the industry is brought to a standstill.
A fortnight's notice has been given op behalf of 10,000 Yorkshire miners owing to dissatisfaction with the minimum wage.
The Conciliation Board discussed the matter, and adjourned till the 20th inst.
