DARFIELD.

Ideal harvest weatner has been experienced during the past week, xne days have been very warm, with practically no wind, followed oy cool moonlit nights. Once or twico thero appeareu to bo a slight touch of frost, but no damage has resulted. Stook threshiug is finished, but a lot of grain in stack will not be touched for some time yet. So far the samples of wheat are decidedly poor, owing to the damage caused by the recent wet weather. A well-known Christchurch miller spent a day or two in the district looking for new season's wheat, but left without doing any business, the grain not being in good enough condition yet. However, a feAv weeks in the stack will ettect a considerable improvement. There has not been a great deal of grain sent away yet, but next week should see a considerable increase in the quantity being handled.

A large number of fat sheep and lambs have changed hands during th© week, the number sent away being considerably greater than in the previous three weeks.
