Crawford gave several chances, almost all of which would' have been accepted by a first-class field. He opened his shoulders to everything, and could he, barring the chances he gave, likened to Jessop. . He hit 14 sixes and 45 fours. Trumper played a characteristic innings, scoring' all-round the wicket by pretty strokes. He hit one six and 21 fours.- Halfcenturies wero got in ten minutes, and tbe fastest in nine minutes, a. world's record by Noble and Crawford. The bowling was good until at th« finish, when fatigue broke it down.- and tbe batsmen did what they liked.
