On Wednesday night, a large number of her friends gathered to bid farewell to Miss Maggie Mackintosh, who is leaving to settle in the Gisborne district. The Rev. J. Pringlc eulogised her work as organist since the church was opened six years ago, and, on behalf of her many friends, presented her with a-gold wristlet watch. Messrs S. Macintosh and S. Robertson replied in acknowledgment. Songs were contributed by Mrs Shaw, Misses Burgess, and G. Robertson, and Messrs >.. Conway, W. Langley, mid J. Bell. Miss Pamela McNae gave a recitation. Supper was dispensed, and the meeting concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
