(Before Mr T. Wallace, J.P., and Mr W. Barrett, J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. One first offender for drunkenness was fined -os, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. Charles Potter was charged with drunkenness in a tram-car, and with using obscene language id the sama vehicle. Accused was fined 5s on tho first charge, in default twenty-four 'hours' imprisonment, and £5, with tho alternative of a month's imprisonment, on the charge of using obscene language. ALLEGED HOUSE-BREAKING. Robert Dickson Warden was charged that, on March 3rd, at Avonside. he did enter the dwelling of John Robson Preece and steal therefrom the sum of £9 os. Chief-Detective Bishop applied for, and was granted, a week's adjournment, there being further charges pending. A PRIVATE PROSECUTION. _ William Brunsden (Mr Cuningham) was charged that, during the period from January 13th, 1908, to September 1909, he did receivo from John Morrisey or his wife Julia Morrisey, the sum of lis 6d, and fail to account for tho same to Charles Allison (Mr Cassidy). The case was adjourned for a week. ALLEGED INDECENT ASSAULT. (Before Mr W. Barrett, J.P.) Charles Wallace Adam was charged with having on March 3rd, at Prebbleton indecently assaulted a female under the age of 16 years and with assault with intent to commit rape. Ob tho application of Chief-Detective Bishop accused was remanded until Monday. Bail was allowed, accused in £150. and one surety of £150, or two sureties of £75.
