Butter—The market is steady with an improved demand for Now Zealand. The Danish market is firmer, at 121s to 124.; New Zealand 114s to 116s. Tho Australian market is quiet but steady at Ills to 112s. Tho Argentine and Siberian markets are steady at 110s to 112s. Cheese—Tho market is steady, and prices are well maintained with a fair demand for New Zealand. A -small shipment of Australian cheese at Liverpool sold' very freely at 64s to 665. The Canadian market is quiet but firm. White 69s to 71s ; coloured 70s to 725. New Zealand white 63s 6d to 64s 6d; coloured 66s to 66s 6d. Hemp—Tho Manila market remains very depressed, and prices have declined, consumers holding off. Spot hemp is neglected. Average price for fair current in near positions is £27 os, in distant positions £27 10s. The output from Manila for tho week was 21,000 bale;_The New Zealand market continues dull. Good to fair grade, £25 ss; fair grade,; £2-1. These quotations are nominal. February to April shipments, good to fair grade, £25 15s; fair grade, £23 ss. Sisal. —The market is steady at previous quotations. Tow. —Tho market is steady, with a moderate demand. Second grade £12, third ,_rrad« £11 to £11 ss, on spot. Wool. —Tlie market for -tops is active, with a good demand, 36's low crossbreds, 152 d: 40's do.. 16d; 44's, medium crossbreds, 16, d ; 50's, halfbreds, 20d ; sG's, quarterbreds, 22** d; 60's, merinos, 23d.. Hops.—Tho market is quiet but steady.
