VISIT TO THE HIGH SCHOOLS.
His Excellency the Governor, the Earl of Liverpool, accompanied by Captain Shaw, A.D.C., Mr Holland, Mayor of Christchurch, and Mr H. D. Acland, DeputyChairman of the Board of Govornors of Canterbury College, paid a visit to tho Girls' High School yesterday morning. He was received by the Lady Principal, Miss Gibson, and made a tour of inspection of tho school buildings and class-rooms.
Thence his Excellency proceeded to the Boys' High School, whero he was received by the headmaster, Mr C. E. Bevan-Brown, the School Cadets, under Lieut. Hoare, forming a guard of honour. His Excellency was conducted through the school by the headmaster, and saw the different forms at their work.
