Rioting began early on Saturday in the direction of Ringsend, where a mob attacked tramcars laden with visitors to a football match. The police charged the crowds. A rioter snatched a sword from an inspector and attempted to stab him. The latter knocked down his assailant, amd wild scenes followed-. Ambulances were kept busy. Tho greatest disorder was round Liberty Hall. Tho authorities allogo that it was started by those within tho hall hurling broken bottles and stones at the police.
