CrSZSS ASSOCIATION TKLZGRAIC.) OAMARU, August 31. There has been an improved enquiry
for wheat during the week, but little has been offering. The chief transactions have been ex store at Oamaru, at 4s I_d for Velvet, and 3s Sd for Tuscan, subject to commission. Tho' following sales have been made at country stations, net: Velvet 4s, Redchaff 3s 8d to 3s 9d, and solid straw Tuscan 3s <Hd. Oats axe offering, "hut there is littlo business doing, there is, however, no weakening in prices. A grade Gartons, not at country stations, have sold at 2s Id and 2s l.d and 2s for B grade. There is no business doing in potatoes, and the market is lifeless. The only sales recorded during tho week were one lot at 45s and another at 50s, less commission, but mercliants say about 35s is their present value. xVny business is of a hand-to-mouth character.
