SUMNER CLUB.

The first annual meeting of tho Sunnier Bowling Club was hold in tho Council Chambers, Sumner, on Friday night. In the unavoidable absence of thu President (Mr K. G. Rawnsley), tho Mayor (Mr G. W. C. Smithson) was voted to the chair. There wero nineteen members present. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. In moving the adoption of the report, {ho Chairman congratulated the Club on the very eatis- ,- factory progTeea that had beeji made, Mid also on iU) financial pesition. nnd eaid it was. expected that the green would be ready for tho opening in September next. The report stated that the Club was formed on June 19th, 1912. with thirty-two itctivo members and thirteen honorary members. The coinmitt.ee had purchased, on behalf of tho Club, lets tf, 7 and f> of Mr Humphreys , !* Richmond Hill subdivision lor £555. A good deal of work has been done in connection with the green. A good strike of grae<* ha<l been obtained, and it was anticipated ihat the cr>'en "would prove eminently micecseful.
