KING REVIEWS FOOT GUARDS
DAZZLING SCENE IN HYDE PARK
LONDON, April 28
Tlie King reviewed the Brigade- of Foot Guards in Hydo Park to-day. A dazzling galaxy or' high officers accompanied his Majesty, who, attired in the full uniform of a colonel of Guards, rode at tho head of the party on a fine charger. The Queen and Princess Mary were present in the State landau, drawn by four horses. Field-Marshal Lord Roberts. FieldMarshal Lord Mcthuen, and General Sir J. IX P. French were among the notabilities in the entourage, a number of foreign military attaches in the varied and brilliant uniforms of their respective countries bringing up the rear.
A tremendous crowd of Londoners and visitors gathered in the park to soothe display, and the Queen ordered tho horses to bo taken from her carriage so that the people could get a clearer view of tho march past. Tho troops first proceeded past the saluting baso in rolumn of double companies with their bands blaring merrily, and finally advanced in review order, making a magnificent spectacle. They halted within 100 yards of the Royal dais, and presented arms. The massed bands played the National Anthem, and as the last notes died away Major-General Sir A. E. Codrington, general office' commanding the London district. ros« in his stirrups and called for three cheers for the King n.nd Queen. The men responded heartily, waving their busbies on the ends of their bayonets.
The King subssauently said: "I feel proud to be the Colonel-in-Chief of such a splendid body of men."-
