WHAT SHE HAS BEEN TAUGHT
LONDON, April 26. Princess Mary, the ouly daughter of the King and* Queen, celebrated her sixteenth birthday yesterday. The Princess, who looks younger than her age, was overloaded with presents. The Queen ft as had her daughter educated according to old-time ideals. The Princess can mend her brothers' socks, bako dainty things for the tea-table, .and occasionally she takes a turn at making cheese and butter at Sandringhaiu.
Ucsules possessing these useful accomplishments, sho can swim, ride, drive, dance, cycie, and play golf and hockey. The Princess has also learnt shorthand and typewriting, and the King sometimes dictates private letters to her.
