CASUALTIES.
A man named Martin was admitted] to tho hospital last night suffering from a few cuts and abrasions caused through a vehicle ho was driving colliding with a tramcar.

The police have received information that a Maori child at Waotu was dentally burnt to death. No particulars are available.
INVEROARGILL, May 6. Charles Nichol, aged 36, a married man, was. run over by a train nearOtautau this morning. Ho left homo to feed his horses and it is surmised that when crossing tho line he was ■struck by the engine. Tho driver did' not see tho accident, and the victim was not picked up till tho goods train arrived later. Both Nichol's legs were cut off and ho died ou tho way to the hospital.
WELLINGTON, May 6. Miss A. J. Percy, a resident of Petono, was found dead in her room at a private hospital in the city this morning, having hanged herself by placing a waistband round her nock and attaching it to a towel, which she had fastened to tho upper part of a screen. Deceased was seen by a nurse nbout 20 minutes beforo tho body was found, and was then apparently in her usual health. She was 50 years of age. Daniel Moorcbrook, a resident of Wellington terrace, was found dead in the kitchen by his wife this morning. Deceased ha-d been complaining of pains in tho chest.
