BULLFINCH STICKING-UP CASE

FURTHER DETAILS.

(By Cable.—Piese Association.—r-opyr^n; , , PERTH, May 5. Further details of the robbery at the Bullfinch mine show that the monthly clean-up was being made. Two watchmen, named Gale and Cassey, were locked in the smelting room engaged in smelting. Cassey went out to ask a third man, named Sheldon, to bring tea. When Cassey returned and opened tho door two armed, masked men appeared, bailed him up, gagged the watchmen, and as soon as Sheldou came with the tea ho was similarly treated. The robbers promptly secured about 898 ounces of gold, valued at over £3GCO.

Cassey managed to free himself shortly after the robbers left and gave the alarm. Tho police found a number of gags and bags which tho robbers had worn over their heads.

Gale states that Sheldon refused to put up his hands and showed fight. The robbers thereupon tripped him up and bound him, keeping all covered with their revolvers.

Tho robbers smashed tho electric globes to prevent their operations being seen They drew tho trays from the retort furnaces and threw water on tho gold to cool it. Before departing, the robbers fired a shot. Thoir movements showed that they wero well acquainted with tho workings of the mine.

An early development is expected. The police and black trackers aro busy, and the recent rain makes tracking comparatively easy.
