I —————v IMPORTANCE OF THE STEP. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received February 26th, 1 a.m.) SYDNEY, February 25. Air Carrtithers was elected president of the Methodist Conference. The Rev. Dr. Youngman, speaking of his recent visit to New Zealand, said that in connection with the inauguration of tho Independent Conference, and the consummation of the Methodist union, no one would realise tho importance of the step taken, but he was perfectly confident that the union would mean a great advancement in Methodism in the Dominion.
