POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
.— m THE NEW BODY'S PROGRESS. (press association* telegram.) NELSON, February 23. The largest and most enthusiastic meeting of poultrymen for many years was held last evening. It was unanimously decided to affiliate with tho New Zealand Championship Association, just registered in Wellington. Air E. Gallichan, secretary to the new Association, was present, and explained the proposed working of the championship body. There will bo championship shows at Wellington and Christchurch, and four provincial championships, one for Otago and Southland combined, one for Canterbury, one for Wellington, Hawke's Bay Taranaki, Marlborough, and Westland and one for Auckland. Mr Gallichan will visit the other centres of the new Association, which will be in working order next show season. Three Wellington societies havo affiliated, Nelson is the fourth, and Picton, Blenheim, and the other socities are favourably disposed.
