WAIPARA.
Tho monthly meeting of tho Waipara County Council was held on Saturday. Present: Messrs G. Rutherford (chairman), N. D. Campbell, and R. Evans. The Cheviot County Council and the Amberley Town Board wrote, agreeing to contributo tho samo percentage towards the maintenance of tho Waipara bridgo and approaches as they did to the construction of it. Messrs Shaw, Waters, and O'Brien forwarded a letter, saying they were opposed to tho closure of any roads on tho property sold by Mrs I'ownend at Hawardon. • Consideration of-tho letter was held over until the councillors had met Mrs Townend's solicitor on the ground. The Bruce County Council forwarded a resolution passed by them re Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards' rating. It was decided to reply that the altering of the' present mode of rating would lie a disadvantago.to tins county. Accounts amounting to £598 18s 4d were passed for payment, and -the Council adjourned.
