VISIT OF MR EVELYN WRENCH Mr Evelyn Wrench, honorary organiser of the Overseas Club, accompanied by his sister, Miss Wrench, will arrive, in Christchurch to-night. ,j»_d spend two or three days here. Mr Wrench comes accredited by th© Royal Colonial Institute, th© Victoria League, and a number of leading Imperialists at Home, including Earl Grey. Tho Overseas Club is a non-party organisation formed for the purpose of bringing tho various portions of the Empire into closer touch. It has already over 100,000 members in upwards of 500 branches. It may b© mentioned that just beforo his departure from tho Dominion, Lord Islington opened a branch in Dunedin, and spoke in tho highest terms of th© organisation. On Thursday His Worship th© Mayor will give Mr and Miss Wrench a civio reception at tho Municipal Council Chambers at 11 a.m., when it is hoped that as many as' possible of those who take an interest in tho Empire will, Attend.

On Friday Mr Wrench is to be entertained at luncheon at tho Canterbury Club by the Fellows of tho Colonial Institute resident in and near Christchurch.

During their 6tay Mr and Miss Wronch will also have an opportunity of meeting tho oommitteo of the Viotoria League We learn from the "Evening Post" that Mr Wrench is expected to arrivo in Wellington on Sunday, the 19th inst. On tho Monday he will bo accorded a civic reception by tho Mayor at tho Town Hall at 4 p.m.; on the Tuesday ho will be the guest of the Now Zealand Club nt luncheon; on th© Wednesday he will be the guest of the Wellington Racing Club; on tho Thursday night he will address a public meeting in th© Sydney Street Schoolroom ; arid on the Friday there is to be a conferenco of delegates and those interested in tho overseas movement.
