A SUCCESSFUL APPEAL.

3HTXEDIX. January 14

Tho hearing of the appeal by Georgo Lamborn, a gripman, against his dismissal from the service of the Dunedin and Kaikorai Tram Company, was concluded this afternoon. The Magistrate (Mr Widdowson), in giving a decision on behalf of the Board, said a preliminary point was raised by Mr Stephens, that an appeal did not lie as a week's notice had been given. The Board held that Section (i of the Tramways Amendment Act. 1910, gave the right of appeal in all cases. It came to the conclusion that the appellant's dismissal from the service of the company for the reasons, given was too severe, and that it should bo set aside. The determination of tho Board uas that- the appellant's dismissal being too severe, it be set aside; that in lieu thereof, apoellnnt be suspended for two months from 27th November, 1912, and that appellant be reinstated in tne service of the company as spare gripmnn on 27th January.
