COUNTY COUNCILS.
RANGIORA
The Kangiora County Council met on Friday. Present: —Messrs F. Horrell (chairman), H. Garrett, A. Mcintosh, W. Stalker, M. H. Stokes, H. Tollett anel L. W. Campion. Mr F. Teague wrote, explaining why gorse had been left on Oxford road, which was now being removed. A conference with tho Eyre Council at 10.30 a.m. on tho loth inst. was agreed to. It was decided that an application bo made to tlie Minister of Internal Affairs to assign the letters Rga. C, with the numbers from 1 onwards, to bo used for motor registration. In consequence of complaints of cattle straying on roads, it was decided that the ranger lay informations. The chairman reported having concluded the purchase of a Robey engine and road roller, but no steps had been taken in respect of new Council buildings, as the question of disposing of the present site had been raised. It was decided to purchase three road traction trucks. Telegraph poles having been placed on the road at JHaxton, it was decided to communicate with the Telegraph Department on the matter. The chairman and Messrs Mcintosh and Stokes, wero authorised to go into the question of selling the Council buildings at Rangiora, with the object of securing a better site, and to report at a special meeting. The surveyor reported on the Kaiapoi beach road, which it was decided should be rolled. It was decided to request the owners to clear a creek at Southbrook, and that a fence on the school road, Cust. be set back. At a special meeting the Council passed' a by-law affectinc traction engine traffic, which will be confirmed on February 14th.
