AUCKLAND, January 1. The ■ Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting was continued to-day'under adveiss weather, conditions. xV strong northerly wind war* blowing all day. and after tho first race a light drizzle set in, continuing practically all the afternoon. The attendance, however, was large, it being estimated that over 25,000 wero present. The going wa3 not affected in any way by the rain, and again the times were fast. Tho investments totalled £47j139 10s, as against £51,691 10s last year. Results: — , FERGUSON HANDICAP, of 125 soys; second 20 soys, and third 10 soya from stake. Six furlongs. 2. Reservoir, Neiius an 3 Lloyds showed tho way over the first hurdle, and the order was unchanged at tho second obstacle' at which Waterworks fell. Neiius then began to go away from tho field, and at the fou-th hurdle was three lengths clear of Koran, with Lloyd 3 in third placo four lengths fuitber back. Neiius fell at the sixth hurdle, interfering with Lloyds and Reservoir. Koran was ten lengths clear at tho next hurdle, but tired in the straight, and Lloyds was only two lengths s**ay at the finish. A fine start was effected, but before half a furlong had been covered Bon Reve was two lengths in front of Brown Owl, Bon Ton and Monorail being similar distances away. Tho positions wero maintained until the cutting was reached, where Bon Ton headed Brown OwL Bon Reve entered tho straight with a three lengths' lead, and although challenged at the distance, held his own easily in the run to tho po3t, winning by two lengths. Ventura had a length's advantage from Crown Pearl at the straight entrance, but at the distance Potoa threw-out a challenge, and catching the leaders in a few strides went on to win by a length and a quarter. Once tho straight -was entered La Reina put in her claim and appeared to be winning easily, when Antoinette came through the field .and won by a length and a half; Domino half a length bway, Bronze and Tiresome last.
