COUNTY COUNCILS.
AKAROA
The monthly meeting of tho Akaroa County Council was held at Duvauchelle on Saturday. Present —Messrs J. D. Bruce (chairman). J. Newbegin, R. H. Barker, E. Hay, and F. Williams. The Minister of Internal Affairs vrrote assigning tho letters Ao for registration of motors in tho county. An application for assistance from the Okains Road Board towards building a bridge over tho main creek in Okainß was deferred on account of tho absence of Mr Thacker, member for the Okains riding. A request by tho Peninsula Technical Association for financial assistance was received, and six guineas voted. The tenders for tho completion of the Onawe Gap flat road and wharf were considered, and that of Wm. McCartney, at £1450. was accepted.
