ST. MATTHEW'S CHURCH DAY SCHOOL.

The annual distribution of prizes at St. Matthew's Church day school took place on Friday evening, when the vicar, the Rev. t: B. Haggitt, presided over a large gathering of parents and friends of the pupils. In one room were displayed specimens of needlework, writing, drawing, and brushv/ork, done during the year. An enjoyable entertainment was given by the pupils, the chief items being a fancy dance by a number of cirle. and a musical sketch, •'Little Japs at Ploy." Government Inspectors' examinations showed that rhildren who had gone through tho school conrsc were more than ablo to hold their own on leaving to pursue hiyhcr studies.
