PENINSULA HOSE SHOW.

The annual Rose Show of the Peninsula Horticultural Society was held in the Oddfellows' nail, Akaroa, yesterday, when there was a good attendance both afternoon and evening, 'ihe rain and wind on' Wednesday night materially affected the entries, which were not so numerous aa at the previous year's enow, and the exhibits, though good, were not, &s a who.c, quite up to Inst year'e standard. Some very fine individual cxtuuits were shown, especially a collection by Mrs R. Sh CD herd, the premier bloom (Captain Haywatd) of Mrs F. Armstrong. Archdeacon Stocker acted ac judge, his decisions giving goneral satisfaction. During the evcn.ng an orchestral concert was held. The following is the prize list:—
