Captain Faber, M.P., asserted that when, Ministers returned from Malta they intended to abandon tho Mediterranean, but after a severe stnijgglo tho Defence Committee succeeded in reversing that intention. Ho believed that tho Canadian offer would be 7,000,000 dollars every other year.
