Mount Victoria eaaily beat Peggy ovor four furlongs iti 62sep. Aura (Berry), Sea Quoon (W. Price), arid Odessa' wero associated over seven furlongs, and the first-named, who had tho. advantage in the weight, finished .first in lmin 29sec. Undecided (R. . Hatch)' beat Brown Trout (lightweight) ovec nine furlongs, the last eight taking lmin 56 3-oth sec. Master Theory and Black Northern cantered once round, the last six furlongs of the second circuit, in lmin 21 4-sth sec. the latter finisaing in front, but both went well. Antarctic wsb worked steadily. Ho started off groggily, and pulled up lame. He was evidently nothing like himself.- Gay Lawless (S. Reid) covered tho last four of five furlongs in 59 l-sth sec. Ladrone, who was looking well, did a circuit at three-quarter pace. War Queen (lightweight) beat Deploy (W. Price) over ebc furlongs in lmin 2Ssec. Taiaha, La Reina. Acma, St. Amelia, Leapruki, aad Curator wero each given moderate tasks. Tui Cakobau, who looking very fit, and Gaelic were associated in a .gallop once round; Tbe former, on tho outside, appeared to go best. Ceylon had a big advantage in thc weights, and easily beat Alexis and another, over five furlongs, which occupied lmin lOeec. Soman (Packer), Knutsiord (Traill), Captain Jinglo, (Jco O'Connell), ar.d Gold Bird (R. Thompson* woto echooled over the steeplechase fences. Knutsiord dislodged his rider at tho brush, but the others jumped well. Darby Paul, Ngatiruanui, Compass, and Amaru were assigned moderate tasks.
