RED AND BLACK ASSOCIATION'S COMPETITIONS. The third event in the McCully Cup competition, open to members ot the Red ana Association, was held last night, -when a Marathon raoo wa"d run from tho Association's roome, Manchester street, to JNew Brighton. M. O. Moore- (lmin) proved the winner, defeating D. C. Inglis (4min) by a yard.- Inglis came up with a great rush at the finish. G. Birch (lmin) finished third, coming-in 30sec later. Moore also established fastest time, doinj? the distance, about J five milea and a half, in 33} rain. For this ho secures special points for tho cup, beI sides alao winning Mr J. S. Midd'eton's prize I for first place. W. Pead, who started frorii scratch, though running very pluckijy, foil ml the 'odds too great, finishing only sixth, two minutes behind Moore.
