The Railway League Committee met] on Thursday evening to make definite arrangements for tho Ministerial visit next Thursday. The Prime Minister wrote- that he had gone very carefully into the matter of tho railway extension with the Minister-of Public Works* Ho had noted that tho lino was not jet authorised, but would bo glad to bring the lino up for consideration when the Estimates were being framed. Tho secretary was instructed to write thanking th© Minister for his interest in the matter. The Hons. W. D. fc>. Macdonald and Geo. Laurenson, and H. F. Wigram, and Messrs T. -JDavey, and L. M. Isitt, intimated their intention of being at Waiau on the 13th inst. A programme was drawn up and arrangements made to convey the party round tho district. A deputation was appointed to wait on tho Ministers.
