No less than 35 members of the Masterton A. and P. Association have agreed to become life members by paying £10 in one sum to the funds, of the Association. Wairarapa stud sheep breeders are already receiving large orders for rams for next season, Romneys being in very strong request, and somo breeders have more orders on hand than they will ho able to fill. Twelve crates of cheese carried in on open truck, under cover of a tarpaulin, from the Wairarapa to Wellington, were found to have been broached and only six whole crates could be mado up out of the twelve. The well-known imported stallion Sir Thornley is to go to the North Island in a few days. He has been bought by Mr Harding, of M.ingawhare. North Auckland, from Mr A. Dalgleish, of Oamaru, at a very high price. The fund recently started by holding a stock fair, to decrease the debt on the Masterton A. and P. Association's- new grounds at Solway is expected to reach £1000 beforo it is finally closed. The sale of stock given to tho fund realised about £600. The. substitute advocated is paper twine, any pieces of which left in tho wool will disappear during washing. Our Dunedin correspondent telegraplis that Mr Acton Adams, of Clydovalo. has sold tho bulk of his ->roperty of 6000 acres in blocks of 900 acres, 600 acres, and larger areas. Tbo homestead block. and another, 1600 acres in all, have just been purchatsod by Mr Furze, of Canterbury. Mr D. Murray has secured a block of 900, acres, abutting on his present Clydevale property. At tho annual meeting of the Waimato A.'and'P. Association on Saturday last, the report showed a credit balance- on the year's working of £141 17s 7d, in addition to which there was £64 outstanding.
